Competitions. Joe Kennedy & Sons from Tourlestrane were the kind sponsors of last week-end’s 18 Hole Stableford with the results as follows;
1st Padraic Larkin (37pts) followed by a rejuvenated Harold McManus (37) and in third was AJ Hession (34).

During the week, Romauld Mullarkey of Mullarkey’s Furniture sponsored a 9 Hole Stableford with first place claimed by the long hitting Maynard O’Boyle (21pts) and second was the Competitions Secretary Ger Roache.

Junior Boys. Lessons have been arranged for each Monday for the next four weeks. The cost is E5 per lesson and all Juniors are encouraged to attend these valuable coaching sessions where all aspects of golf will be imparted including etiquette.

Friday Nights. All members are encouraged to play on Friday evenings and later join their friends and foes for a bit of fun and craic. Food can be organised if somebody wishes to entertain or invite acquaintances, or work colleagues etc.

Jimmy Bruen. AJ Hession’s charges had their first outing versus Enniscrone, and as usual with this opposition, it was a titanic struggle with little separating the sides. Luckily, we had three matches at home, with the following combinations claiming the upperhand, D Cawley/C Wimsey, G Henry/J Reade, J O’Flaherty/AJ Hession. Both away combinations (J Wimsey/J Hewitt & T Conlon/D Scanlon) pushed the opposition to the final holes before giving away.
