Joint Captains. The Captains’ Drive-In held on Sunday was a great success, attracting a full field to the days’ scramble. More than 50 people attended the drive in itself on the first tee and afterwards for the handing over of the badges of office. Lady Capt. Andrea Hewitt and Gents Captain Brendan Leonard did themselves proud with shots that dissected the fairways – we wish them well in their respective roles in the year ahead.

The scramble played in a perfect Spring day and with the course playing unusually long at this time of year, meant “birdies” were at a premium.
Despite this we had high scores with the results as follows;

1st - Keith Feehily, Mary Kennedy, Pat Cawley, Colm Gallagher (8 under par)
2nd - Ger Roache, Padraic Larkin, Maynard O’Boyle, Darren Leonard
3nd - Pat Ridge, John Lawrence, Enda Marren, Jack McIntyre

E.G.M. All members are invited to attend a specially convened Extraordinary General Meeting on Friday 11th March to discuss the proposed alterations to the 1 Hole.

We are indebted to Damian Keenan who was the designer and author of this magnificent conduit of information for both members and the general public. We welcome all contributions, photos and suggestions for possible inclusion.

Seniors. The Seniors’ brigade are active again and are holding their first competition on Wednesday next at 10.30am – contact Pearse Henry for further details.
