Competitions
. This week-end saw Gearoid Surlis of Supervalu sponsoring the 18 Hole Stroke. First up was Charlestown’s Simon Craig with a fabulous 62 (net), second was young Dara Kilcoyne from Tunbbercurry on an equally impressive 53, while old hand Ger Roache was third on 64.

Nearest to the pin was the extremely accurate Frank Durcan from Cloonacool.

Jack O’Sullivan; We accounted for Swinford by 3 to 2 with Jimmy Walshe/Gerry Connolly plus Mark Burke/Damien Cawley winning at home and the old reliables Harold McManus/Pauric McDonagh winning away. The other pairing were AJ Hession/Christy Wimsey and Keith Feehily/Eamon Gallagher. We now look forward to taking on Claremorris on Thursday 30th June.

Mixed Foursomes. Best of luck to Tommy Clarke and his pairings on Wednesday next (22nd June) where they take on Enniscrone.

High Boys Club. Last week saw a gentleman who is no stranger for collecting prizes Mr. Pat Cawley claim first prize. This competition continues each Friday for those members with handicap of 19 or greater.

President’s Prize. Our President. Billy Kilgannon’s big day is scheduled for Saturday 16th July. This year the event will be a stroke competition and you are invited to add your name to the sheet in the clubhouse.

Connacht Gold. The annual scramble is taking place on Saturday next – please enter your name on the sheet in the clubhouse tonight (Wednesday).

Race Night. Our Captain has organised a Race Night for Saturday night and with a record number of races and horses, a great night’s entertainment is assured. Please come along and lend your support to this fund raising venture for the Golf Club.

Next week; We have an 18 Hole Stableford sponsored by East West Express (James Marren). Additionally, we have a 9 Hole Stroke (r/e) running from Monday to Friday and kindly sponsored by Western Beverages.

Date for your diary;
The open week scheduled for the 4th to 9th July will be a 3 ball Scramble with very tempting prizes on offer including accommodation in Villas etc, more details anon.
