Tubbercurry Golf Club
Competitions. This weekend we had an 18 Hole Stroke sponsored by Eamon Gallagher from Rochford Gallagher & Co. Solicitors. Tommy Kelly with a very impressive claiming first prize with a net 64, followed by Darragh Kilcoyne (66) and Padraig Moran also with 66. Ronan Forkin won the Junior prize with a net 64.
High Boys. Brendan Gannon won Friday’s competition with 3 up v Par.
Jack O’Sullivan. Well done to Tommy Clarke’s selection that accounted for Claremorris in the second round and now look forward to pitting their wits against Castlebar on Thursday 14 July. The team on duty was Jimmy Walshe/Gerry Connolly, Damien Cawley/Mark Burke, Eoin Gallagher/Christy Wimsey,
Keith Feehily/Gerard Henry, Harold McManus/Padraig Scanlon.
Open week. This year we have introduced a new format running a 3 Ball Scramble from the 4 to 9 July. This is a fund raiser for the club and is obviously, open to all members and non-members alike. There are a host of quality prizes on offer, with the leading awards as follows;
One weeks accommodation in a luxury 3 Bed apartment in Spainfor 3 plus Green Fees at Westport Golf ClubGreen Fees for the Heritage & Spa Resort (Laois).
Junior Cup. We bowed out of this competition in Claremorris on Saturday last. Jack Reade’s selection was Keith Feehily, Christy Wimsey, Joey Wimsey, Jimmy Walshe. John O’Flaherty.
