Competitions. Marren Oil Services (John T Marren) sponsored Sunday’s 18 Hole Stableford played in ideal conditions. Near neighbor, Barry Kilcoyne was first with 39pts, second was a gent who is favoured for next weeks’ “major” Jimmy Walshe (39) and in third was the inform Eamon Wimsey (38).

Club Rumble Fundraiser. Bon voyage to Senor and Senorita Tommy Clarke plus Ronan Forkin who won the coveted prize of a week in a Spanish Villa. Second prize for one nights accommodation plus Golf in Westport went to Harold McManus, Padraig McDonagh and Danny Jones. The third prize for a round of Golf at the Heritage (Laois) was won by Jimmy and Breege Walshe plus Bertie Marren.

High Boys. Midway through this competition played on Friday evenings. The leader board shows Brendan Gannon ahead of Patrick Cawley followed by Maynard O’Boyle.

Connacht Shield. Pearse Burke has his panel in training for their outing against Ballina on the first Tuesday in August.

Lessons. Both Adult and Junior lessons have being organised with the adults costing E40 for four lessons and the Juniors costing E35 for five lessons – the notice board has further details regarding dates and times.

Captain’s Prize. Best wishes to our esteemed Captain Brendan Leonard who is hosting his prizes on Sunday next. The format is the same as other years and we eagerly look forward to see who makes the “cut” for the final 9 Holes. Please ensure your name is on sheet by Wednesday (July 27th)as the draw will be made that night.

Presentations. On Friday night, a dual affair will take place at 9.30pm namely the presentation of all outstanding prizes and the ever popular Captain’s Auction. All members and non-members are invited to attend this special occasion and support Brendan .
