World Handicap System - What should you do? ---> Click Here

1st November 2020

Dear Member,

As you log on to the Golf Ireland website to check you new Handicap Index please be aware that this is a preliminary value and will very likely change over the next few weeks for the following reasons:

In a few rare cases some member records have not been imported at all. We are working to address this and hope to have a resolution in the next few days.

Not all qualifying competition data has been imported from Golfnet yet.
(Those of you that played in competition recently may notice those scores are not yet available)

General play and Society scores may have imported incorrectly or not at all and these will need to be added manually by the relevant handicapping committee and appropriate adjustments made.

The mandatory soft and hard caps applicable under the new system have not yet been applied and again, this will need to be done manually.

The annual handicap review is in progress. Adjustments arising from this will also be processed in the near future.

All handicapping records will be scanned for errors and appropriate adjustments made.
This will take some time to complete and we would appreciate your patience.

We hope to have all of the above complete before the end of November when hopefully, we can all return to the course.

Best regards & stay safe.
Ladies and Gents Handicapping committees.

A message from Luke O Connor, T.G.C Captain 2020

Good afternoon all,
Here is the return to Golf protocol for TGC. Please read carefully and familiarise yourself with how the club will be managing the opening of the course. Please have patience and if everyone adheres to the rules, we will all get back to playing and enjoying our course.

Also below are the instructions on how to book tee times. I would also ask you all to familiarise yourselves with these instructions. The club will hope to have a practice run for members in place by Thursday morning so you can have a test run on booking a tee time and then hopefully from the weekend on it will be live for members to book tee time for the reopening of TGC on Monday 18th.

Again I’d ask for your patience as there is a lot of work involved to make everything go smoothly. Remember this is information only for you to read and become familiar with. I will send a message out again most lightly midweek with more information you’ll require to do a tee time test.

Regards
Club Captain Luke O’Connor.

TGC Notice 15th May 2020

• Bookings open for Monday’s play at 8pm tomorrow (Saturday) evening.
• Tuesday’s bookings will open at 8pm on Sunday, and so on.
• There are still test booking sheets for members to use to familiarise themselves with the system.
• If you are a member who hasn’t access to the platforms we are using for bookings, please don’t let that exclude you from playing the game.
• Ask a friend to book the tee time for you, or contact a member of the committee to help you with the same.
• Members must be aware with our “Protocol for Re-opening” guidelines prior to arriving at the golf club.
• In short, unless you have booked a tee time, you shouldn’t be at the golf club.
• If possible, avoid booking your game at peak times.
• The system operates on a “first come, first served” basis, with the exception of Senior Ladies on a Tuesday morning and Senior Men on a Wednesday morning. Arrangements have been made with these groups to allow them to pre-book times on those days.
• Remember, if you are availing of the “Caddy Rule”, you need to let one of the nominated committee members know 1 hour in advance of your tee time. (If you don’t know what we’re talking about, you need to read the Protocol).
• There will also be tee times reserved for those members who will be acting as supervisors on the day.
• We will review the timesheet at 10pm the evening before a day’s play. The gates will open 15 mins prior to the first booking the next day. For example, if at 10pm on Monday evening we see that the first booking for Tuesday is 9.30am, the gates of the club will open at 9.15am on Tuesday. This time will be posted on the club’s WhatsApp group the night before. This is to avoid supervisors being at the club if no one is there.
• We expect all members to respect the supervisors on duty, and to adhere to the Protocol set out by the Committee.
• Due to Covid-19 our Junior membership rate of €65 has been extended to Students.
• There are CCTV cameras installed at the club, these will be reviewed by committee members to ensure that the protocol is being adhered to.
• This is a difficult time for most people. Be mindful of your responsibilities to your fellow members and the wider South Sligo community. Please do not deviate from the guidelines set out in the Protocol.
• It will be good to get back, enjoy your golf
